The book is divided into three chapters and starts with a detailed  history of the dial-maker Stern Cadran, including reference to the legendary 1932 takeover of the Patek Philippe Company by its supplier, the Stern brothers. The richly illustrated Part 2 describes in unprecedented details the complex and essential steps involved in wristwatch dial manufacture in the 20th century.
In the final chapter, iconic dials of the period, such as the A series  of the Royal Oak by Audemars Piguet, the Nautilus 3700/1 by  Patek Philippe and the dial of the Rolex Daytona Paul Newman  are described in detail, both front and back.
The book concludes with a glossary, bibliography and photography credits.

Divisé en trois chapitres, le livre débute par l’histoire détaillée du cadranier Stern Cadran, y compris une référence à la légendaire reprise en 1932 de la société Patek Philippe par son fournisseur, les frères Stern. La deuxième partie décrit de manière très imagée et avec des détails sans précédent la complexité et les étapes essentielles de la fabrication d’un cadran de montre-bracelet au 20e siècle. Dans le dernier chapitre, les cadrans emblématiques de l’époque, tels que la série A de la Royal Oak d’Audemars Piguet, la Nautilus 3700/1 de Patek Philippe ou le cadran de la Rolex Daytona Paul Newman, sont décrits en détail.
L’ouvrage se termine par un glossaire, des références bibliographiques et photographiques.
